Free Kitchen Tea Gift ideasA kitchen tea or bridal shower is a tradition that has endured generations and helps a bride set up her household. It is up to the family of the bride as to how closely they would like to follow tradition. A kitchen tea or bridal shower is usually hosted by the Maid of Honour (honor in the US!) or the bridesmaids who organise kitchen tea invitations and so on. Kitchenware - Ask all guests to bring a small gift that starts with the letter of the bride’s name: i.e. if the bride’s name starts with ‘s’, people can bring salad servers, spoons, salt and pepper shakers, etc. Books - Ask all the guests to bring a book. This is a gift that people can either go very small with or very big – books range in price from $5 to $100! Cookbooks or home design books would be very suitable. Cookie cutters – a nice idea for kitchen teas where people do not want to spend a lot of money. Ask each guest to bring a cute cookie cutter which the bride can take home together in a beautiful box. Lingerie - a bit more exciting for the girl who already has everything she needs in the kitchen. Handbags - a variety of sizes, shapes and styles make for an interesting theme. Recipes – a cost effective but very thoughtful gift. Ask each guest to write out their favourite recipe in their own handwriting. Put all the recipes in a folder for the bride to use, a great souvenir of the day. Beaded necklace – ask each guest to bring along a beautiful bead. Thread each bead onto a necklace wire, leaving the bride with a unique necklace that will mean a lot, as each guest contributed to it. Groceries – each guest brings a few gourmet grocery items, such as fancy sauces, olive oil, artisan breads, or even wine. All items are placed in a large hamper for the bride to be to take home. |
